This club were created in 1986 by a group of enthusiasts that asked the
mining company SSAB / Gränges Mines if they could use the old mining deposit
field to create a golf course.
The answer was yes and they made a course on mining deposit sand called
“slig”.
After a while, they
planted around 6000 pine plants and also distributed soil over the ground for
each fairway.
All this work made a 9-hole
pay-and-play course open for anybody.
This course is a little
surprising as it looks easy but has many small traps built in almost
everywhere.
The course lengths are 4800 meter Yellow Tee and 3944 meter Red Tee and
par 68.
The
fairways are narrow, the pine trees have grown up and are now a part of the
game, and then not even mention being trapped in the “slig” ditches “wasted areas”
that can make anyone grey-haired.
Even good
golfers with a real handicap can have a higher handicap at the Svanskogens
course.
There is allowed ball position improvement on the fairway but not closer
to the hole.
Otherwise, the normal golf rules apply.
New
from 2023 is that the course has Artificial greens with a Stimp between 9-11
The Greenfee is 250
SEK/25 EUR for a day a senior and 175 SEK/17 EUR for Juniors up to 20 years
old.
Membership are per year 2024:
Senior 1200
SEK/ 120 EUR
16-20 yrs. 500 SEK/ 50 EUR
<=15 yrs. 200 SEK/20 EUR
Deposit the
Greenfee/Membership at the clubhouse do not forget your Name, Address,
Birthdate and actual handicap if existing (not a requirement).
